If you have ever watched what happens on a building site, you’ll notice that there is lots of activity. Plenty of people, each with a specific task to fulfil. Some sites are well-run and organised and the quality of workmanship is high. There is usually a reason for that – a qualified and experienced Project Manager is running the Construction process throughout the site. That ‘process’ called Construction requires a well-defined plan of action and skilled leadership to ensure the programme is implemented well and safely.
Construction is a process that when handled responsibly will ensure that the client is satisfied, the trades work collaboratively and the project runs according to plan and stays within budget. A Project Manager’ role is to ensure the control and monitoring of the project’s progress as well as manage risks.
Our aim is to ensure that technical performance and day-to-day performance are of a high standard. Effective and efficient workmanship is the result of responsible planning by managing relationships between the trades and ensuring the delivery of materials is on time. The Project Manager must also have a good grasp of cost management to ensure that the work stays within budget at each stage of the project.
Our experience in Project Management falls within refurbishment, replacement and new build. Some recent healthcare experience includes the Redevelopment of Radiology, Redevelopment of A&E departments, New mortuary fridges and associated builders works, where we also developed the specification as a surveyor and a bed lift replacement programme.
